Campus shuttle service

A campus shuttle service is available on central campus. This service focuses on the transport between the peripheral areas of campus and central campus.

Stellenbosch day shuttle

07:30 – 17:00 (on campus)
Service between peripheral parking areas of campus and central campus during the day.

Begins: When classes resume
Ends: The last weekday of the A2 exam.
Exclusions: Shuttles DO NOT operate during the following periods:

  • weekends and public holidays
  • recess
  • A3 exam


* Adjusted schedule during the A2 exam period:

  • COETZENBURG/CONSERVE: 7:30-9:00 every 15 min, thereafter every 30 min
  • LENTELUS/JOUBERT: 7:30-9:30 every 30 min, thereafter hourly

18:00 – 06:00 (booked service in town)

A booked service for students studying late at night from pick-up point at the Neelsie student center to private housing in broader town

Specific Conditions: Operates only within a radius of 6km from the Neelsie Student Center.

Pick-up Points: Neelsie student center (east side)

Tygerberg evening shuttle service

Transports Tygerberg students who have made bookings between the campus collection point and nearby shopping centres as well as to private housing within a 6km radius.

This service does not operate on Sundays.

  • Begins: When the university reopens
  • Ends: Last weekday of the A3 exam
  • Booking is essential.

Code of conduct for shuttle users

  1. Wait until the shuttle has come to a complete standstill before boarding.
  2. Keep your seat belt on for the full duration of the trip.
  3. Be considerate towards other passengers.
  4. Respect the privacy of other passengers.
  5. Do not throw anything out of the windows or doors of the shuttle.
  6. If you want to listen to music, please use headphones.
  7. No eating, smoking, or messing on the shuttle or at the shuttle stops.
  8. Students under the influence of alcohol will not be allowed on the shuttle.
  9. Do not bother the driver or other passengers.
  10. Do not lie down on the seats.
  11. Do not slam shuttle doors.
